I woke up this morning with the idea to take a few pictures in the saris my boyfriend's mom brought me from her last trip to India. Last time I went to visit her, she gave me three beautiful, amazing ones for a wedding we will be attending in Vancouver this summer, as well as for our upcoming trip to India.

As some of you might know, I have been propulsed in a bit of the Indian culture since my boyfriend's origins are Jat (one of the people from Punjab, a north west region of India spreading to Pakistan).

It was weird for me to wear a sari the first time I put one on. They definitely look better on darker people than on a red head

I wish to one day learn Punjabi, so our children will be able to communicate with their grandma. She and I are totally in love with each other, but the language barrier is one annoying obstacle sometimes.


The title of the deviation is linked to many things. First, the sari color (duh). Second, golden girl is what i used to call myself last summer for always wearing gold makeup tones. Finaly, the fact that I am covering my head in my boyfriend's culture means that I am probably going to the temple. One of the most popular monuments of India is the golden temple, situated in Punjab.
